“It was such a great event, everyone threw themselves in to it, and I think we got so much more out of it than simply sitting in a room and talking.”
Learning doesn’t stop once the Personal Leadership Programme ends, it grows, evolves, and continues to inspire in new and unexpected ways. Recently, that spirit of ongoing learning and creativity came to life during a fantastic managers’ day organised by Louise Guthrie.
Feeling inspired by the learning on the programme, the team decided to break out the arts and crafts supplies and try something a little different! With IT restoration (hopefully) just around the corner, everyone was asked to deliver a five-minute Dragon’s Den–style pitch, complete with handmade props to Rob, Antony, Adele, and Paul to think more deeply about the future.
The brief was simple: talk openly about what’s worrying us during this time of change and explore how we can guide our teams with confidence, while also giving ourselves room to spark new ideas and creative solutions.
What followed was a wonderful mix of creativity, collaboration, and laughter. From imaginative models and clever visuals to heartfelt pitches, everyone threw themselves into the challenge, proving once again that learning can be both practical and playful. The images below exemplify the mood in the room.
The result was so much more than just a discussion. By bringing creative thinking into the room, the teams uncovered fresh insights, shared new perspectives, and strengthened their confidence as leaders.
This session was a brilliant reminder that the best learning doesn’t end when the workshop finishes, it lives on in the ways we work, problem-solve, and support each other every day.
A huge thank you to Rob for sparking this culture of creativity with Antony, Adele, and Paul and helping make it such a fun and inspiring event. Here’s to many more moments where learning continues to shine!
